Context

Clarifying a complex programme

The University of Hong Kong programme contained substantial academic information for different audiences, including prospective full-time and part-time students. The website needed to feel authoritative while helping visitors quickly understand what the course offered and where it could lead.

The challenge

Turning information into direction

Dense course content can make the first visit feel administrative rather than inspiring. The challenge was to create clearer routes through programme details, study options and supporting information without losing the credibility expected from an established university.

Design process

Designing the information architecture

The work began by grouping related content and defining a more direct navigation flow. Wireframes established hierarchy before the visual layer introduced a restrained colour system, readable typography and modular page patterns capable of supporting both concise introductions and long academic content.

Outcome

A more accessible academic experience

The final direction gives prospective students a clearer overview before inviting them into greater detail. Consistent components and responsive layouts make the programme easier to explore while preserving HKU’s institutional character across the full experience.
