Context

Modernising an established legal practice

Haldanes needed a digital presence capable of communicating professional authority while serving very different visitor needs. Prospective clients might arrive looking for urgent support, a specific practice area or an individual lawyer, while existing clients and industry audiences also needed access to firm news and contact information.

The challenge

Making expertise easier to navigate

Legal websites can become dense collections of biographies, services and formal information. The redesign needed to simplify those journeys without making the firm feel generic, reducing visual friction while preserving the clarity and confidence expected from an award-winning Hong Kong practice.

Design system

Authority with a restrained accent

Architectural monochrome imagery establishes a composed editorial tone, while a deep green accent identifies actions and navigational moments. Consistent typography, spacing and modular page structures connect lawyer profiles, practice information, contact forms and news without forcing every page into an identical layout.

Outcome

One coherent legal experience

The resulting direction gives visitors clearer routes to people, expertise and support across the website. Each content type remains distinct, but shared hierarchy and interaction patterns make the overall experience feel considered, trustworthy and easier to use across screen sizes.
